Really juicy and fresh on the palate, a lovely concentration of pure and intense Malbec fruit - complimented by creamy oak and dark forest fruits in the finish.
Mas des Etoiles was created by two winemaking friends, Arnaud BLADINIERES and David LIORIT. The estate is located in the heart of Cahors and is divided into 1 hectare of Blanc (Chardonnay and Sauvignon) Cotes du Lot and 4 hectares of Red (Malbec) in AOP Cahors. Their wines even impress the Bordelais which is no mean feat!

"A dense wine, a very serious drink on first impression. Deep black-purple, inky, vivid, more youthful than the age would suggest. Richness emanates from the nose; chocolate mixed with violets and other purple flowers, absolutely intense and in harmony with the sweet oak; mocha, roasted nuts and honied ripeness supports the expressions of malbec.
Expect a big and crunchy drink, not very measured, a wine which lets many tastes effuse-all at once. Brutish wine but as it drips down the tongue the tannins soften while the fruit power builds. This is choc-chip fruit sweetness, lots of layers of lovely sweet things, simmering along and very easy on the swallow. The next sip is the same so the rounded tannins demand roast red meat or Thai red curry. A red which slips down as you chew. And a New World style in an Old World raincoat!"
