L'Escalier au Ciel Merlot is made from grapes sourced from vineyards nestled between the two rivers that divide the 'left' and 'right' banks of Bordeaux.
The IGP Atlantic, which is in the Southwest of France, covers much of what is known as Aquitaine and benefits from both the warmth of the Atlantic sun and its cooling sea breezes.
A deep crimson red color, with an impressive and intense red fruit nose of stewed red fruit, sweet spicy fig, and nuances of dark plums. Soft and round on the palate leading to a finish of very fine tannins.

L’ESCALIER AU CIEL MERLOT 2012
As you dip your nose in the glass, the wine impresses by its clean flavours of fresh mulberry, cassis and red fruit with a little hint of forest floor characters. The palate is quite vibrant, the perfectly balanced natural acidity carries the raspberry and strawberry characters all the way. But the highlight of this wine is clearly its soft and velvety mouthfeel, no oak used in this wine; this is what a readily enjoyable Merlot is all about.
