The grapes come from the Pic St Loup vines which surround the rugged stone peak of the same name and because the region is part way from coastal to inland plateau its climate is cooler than most Languedoc vineyards. The shiraz on a soil of clay and limestone gives this blend deepness and finesse with a light mineral finish. The colour is a dense dark purple. Lifted rich plummy blue and red fruit aromas with hints of tar and liquorice. Medium bodied palate of earthy, spice notes and crunchy fruit finishing with a mineral note.
Devois de Perret is made by the Vignerons du Pic, who are a collective of Pic St. Loup growers, each producing wines under their own domain name and independent label, using a shared crush facility and winery and the expertise of master oenologist Bruno Daneluzzi. As an ensemble, they produce this charming Coteaux du Languedoc, much of which comes from declassified Pic St. Loup fruit. It's hard not to fall in love with the elegant wine with its distinctive label and harmonious blend of excellent quality.
