Chateau de Suberne 2006

  • Powerful sweet white wine, as we say in France "vin liquoreux".

The village of Loupiac, 20 miles south Bordeaux, on the right side of the Garonne River and opposite Sauternes, has been appreciated for a long time because of the romans first vineyard in Loupiac (There is still an archaeological roman’s ruin villa with thermal bath).

With a modest proportion of 400 hectares for a number of 70 producers, the region has been able to preserve its values of quality along with its kindhearted characteristic.

Jean-Luc POUTEAU world best sommelier says about this 2006 wine:
"Très belle Robe dorée. Ambré, Jambe épaisse. Très beau nez miel et confiture de Pêche, d’Abricot, d’Ananas, Mirabelle. Très doux, onctueux, velouté charnu, gras, rond. Très belle saveur fruitée. Fin élégant, très long".

Key notes include; citrus exotics fruits, honey, lengthy powerfull sweetness and light acidity. Clean and fresh.

  • Grape Variety Semillon 85%, Sauvignon Blanc 15%

Food Pairing Indian, Caribbean, Asian dishes (especially Peking Duck) and all the sweet and savoury meals. Also great as an Apéritif, ad of course cheese and desserts. You can also add it to a fruits salad.
