Seguin Manuel Premier Cru 2011

  • 180 years after its foundation in 1824, Seguin-Manuel has been completely renewed since its acquisition by Thibaut Marion in 2004.

42 years old and born in a “vigneron family”, involved in the wine business for 10 generations in Beaune, he started his career at the family winery Chanson Père & Fils during seven years. He uses today all his experience and energy to produce great wines.

It has a bright ruby colour. It combines on the nose red fruit and floral aromas as well as toasted notes. It is supple, straigthforward and elegant on the palate with a lovely balance with pure and clean red fruit. Tannins are ripe, fine and very well integrated to the wine. Long and nice finish with mineral nuances.

    Ageing Potential 2014 - 2020

  •  “The 2011 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Lavieres includes 25% whole bunch fruit and raised in 15% new oak, the rest one or two years old. It has a pleasant bouquet of strawberry and cranberry fruit that would benefit from a little more vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, slightly chalky opening. There is good tension here, though its compact finish suggests that it needs another 12 months to really open.
    Very fine. Drink 2014-2020.”
