2008 was a late ripening vintage in Bordeaux reflecting splendid “Indian summer” weather conditions during the harvest. Great intensity of aromas with ripe and robust tannins. A wine with considerable potential for aging..
Château du Seuil, located 35km south east of Bordeaux, is one of the most elegant country houses on the left bank of the Garonne river. This 19th century estate overlooks the river and is in the heart of the Graves vineyards, as well as the Cérons appellation. This region is rich in remains of Gallo-Roman vineyards and has a century long tradition of producing fine wines.

A little pepper and spice, blackcurrant, licorice, gentle smokiness. It’s medium bodied with gentle but persistent graphite tannin, though it’s the fine acid that really drives it along. Cherry and redcurrant flavours in there too, and a good lick of tannin cleans up the finish It’s not the most concentrated or deep of wines, though that forms part of its charm. It’s expressive of its region and offers good drinking at a fair price.
