The origins of the property are around 1850, located on the clay-limestone part of the town of Saint Seurin de Cadourne, Medoc. The vineyard consists of beautiful ridges and gentle slopes facing south. Soil structure is sandy clay type. This very limestone soil brings freshness and finesse typical of Bordeaux wines.
The current owner, Max Pourtales, say "My philosophy is not to make too much wine extracts such as the world knows how to do ... but on the contrary, to obtain fine and elegant wines. ...we must respect the balance and freshness, and everything that characterizes the great Bordeaux wines."
The moto "Quid Non Dilectis" means All for the Loved Ones is carried on the label
The wine was listed in the 2009 Cru Bourgeois. The new Cru Bourgeois list is determined each year including an independent tasting panel, it is awarded as a mark of quality to wines rather than to the chateaux and importantly any chateaux in the Medoc can apply. The lists are published approximately 2 years after the vintage

"This wine is very good. I would suggest decanting it for it to show its best. This is a structured wine with aromatics of coffee, roast meats and earthy blackcurrants. The palate is balanced, the tannins built to last and the length good. An enjoyable cru bourgeois that is good now, and should reward a few years in the cellar.
