"The End of the World" - the name of this cuvée is derived from the ancient name of the fields outside Chateau Cadillac…"Champs du Bout du Monde" or fields at the end of the world.
The 2012 vintage was not easy in Bordeaux and took considerable judgment in both the vines and chai to achieve good results. The Grand Vin of 2012 is made with soft extraction to allow the fruit to express itself both on the nose and the palate, is not over ripe, well balanced, with elegant tannins and a long finish.
The winemaking, which is supervised by M. Stephane RENIE, is focused on making traditional Right Bank wines based on the Merlot grape which is capable of creating the most hedonistic opulent and decadent wine tasting experiences. Merlot began earning its reputation for producing quality wine on the Right Bank back in the 18th Century and the highest priced wines of Bordeaux today are still based on Merlot and Merlot blends.
Merlot perfectly expresses the terroir at Chateau Cadillac, home of Domaine Serisier, where the objective is to create wines that are fruity, round and elegant.
Made from Merlot grapes the terroir is comprised of ideal, free draining clay and limestone soils over a deep bedrock of limestone. Situated on a plateau at an altitude of 55 metres it is perfectly situated with maximum exposure to the sun for ripening of the grapes.

"Beautiful, intense dark colour. Ripe fruit on the nose, fresh and slightly creamy. Plenty of luscious taste on the palate. The wine offers the drinker a soft body, abundant flavour, and feels as easy on the palate as a hand in its glove. Fleshy tannins. Savoury finish. The first vintage, 2012, is a masterstroke. Full bodied but not too firm, this 100% merlot seems to be energised by its clay and limestone soil. The grape remains perfumed, not cooked, not candied. There is maximum flavour and one must make an effort to spit it out. Its balance is such that we forget which grape it’s made of. It’s only the taste that matters. This constitutes its originality. From the start the vintage places itself within the élite of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieurs, two labels whose potential will be discovered when entrepreneurs decide to devote as much work on them as they do on crus classés. M. Serisier’s Australian origins, a different wine culture from that of Bordeaux, help him to go beyond the artificial boundaries imposed between appellations that I myself have often found baseless."
