Colour good, nose sweet. Its appeal is immediate, the high-toned sounds of American oak rock music are there, lovely, coconut ice, drink me. The juicy red fruits of sun-drenched tempranillo (just the one grape) are singing the same song. Ripe and lovely.
This wine took a brief life in barrel (four months) which points to its immediate tastes, more advanced in a drinking decision than crianza. It is good; not robust red but tidy, savoury, quick to show its softness alongside the last bits of grippy oak tannin. Just medium bodied with measured varietal flavours to ease down the throat. Maker established 1777, traditionally grown, reflecting great experience in making modest warm climate drinks.
